A series of guest lectures to CS students 

 

A a new series of meetings, in which CS students and alumni (bogrim and bogrot) will meet interesting people from the industry. The speakers will be mostly computer scientists who are either founders (meyasdim), CEO's (mankalim), R&D managers (Mechkar Vepituach), or simply people who did interesting things in various companies in and out of Israel. The purpose of these meetings is to introduce you to "the real world" and help you gain lessons from the field, focusing on both success and failure stories.

 

The talks are scheduled on on Tuesday, 13:00-14:00 CS students,  Class A109.

BIO: Yuval Lubowich: Senior Research and Development Manager, responsible for the Coridan Integration & Collaboration tools. Yuval is a former R&D manager at mblaze Systems where he managed an R&D team in the Platforms Department and gained experience in product management and release of worldwide enterprise software suites. Yuval holds a B.A. degree from the Efi Arazi school of Computer Science and is currently working on his M.Sc degree also from the Efi Arazi School.

TITLE: Software Engineering and Development Environment in .NET

Yosi Taguri, a .NET Technology expert from Microsoft will introduce us the .NET technology's capabilities and examine some of its usages at the marketplace. He will talk about Visual Studio 2005 from the Software Design perspective and how Microsoft came up with it. The lecture will discuss the building blocks of creating great software, while examining the Software Engineering principles implemented in it.

Tal is a member of the Israeli Group of Linux Users since 1994, organizing

and supporting various open-source events around Israel for the past few

years, such as installation parties, introduction lectures, and advanced
